During Advent, we’re called to prepare for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. It should be a time of expectation and joy – but it’s hard to ignore the darkness in the world! With that in mind, here’s your REAL Conversation for the week:

Is it okay to be happy while there is so much suffering in the world?

Answer this question with your family. Use it as a conversation starter to think about preparing your hearts during Advent. While you’re doing this, remember what St. Paul wrote to the early Christians in Rome, reassuring them during a time of great persecution: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. ~Romans 15:13
Even during dark times, Christians are called to have hope be happy!
