We often hear priests talk about trusting God – but what does that mean? In last weekend’s first reading, we heard the familiar story of Adam, Eve, and the Serpent. It’s a story that’s supposed to illustrate what happens when we don’t trust God. But, most of us don’t run around naked in a garden, don’t talk to snakes, and have never actually heard the voice of God.

So, how do we learn to trust in God? Well, we can start with prayer. Have a difficult decision to make? Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, and, then, “listen” for a response. Do you feel inspired to choose one way over the other? It could be God’s voice. Listen to it. Go with that decision. And, no matter how it works out, believe that God will help you make the most of it!
