This past Sunday was Palm Sunday… but it’s also commonly known as Passion Sunday. That’s because the suffering and death of Jesus is often referred to as his “passion.” Unfortunately, when most people think about Passion Sunday, they think of LOOOOONNNNNG readings that are anything but passionate!

Don’t let that blind you from the importance of the scriptures for Palm Sunday. Jesus was betrayed by friends and followers – and eventually denied three times by Peter – yet he suffered and died for them! But guess what? He suffered and died for you, too. God knew us then and knows us now, so the passionate sacrifice of Jesus wasn’t something that simply happened 2,000 years ago. It’s NOT just ancient history.

Jesus suffered and died for you. Why?

Because he always was and always will be passionate about you!
